At the onset of COVID-19 infections in the U.S., the San Francisco Bay Area became the epicenter of first reported confirmed cases of community transmissions. As reported cases increased throughout the region and growing concerns over the severity of the virus took precedent, Sonoma County government officials understood that this public health response required a strategic collective approach, guided by experienced experts.
Emergency Management engagement focused on:
- Development of an Operational Area Pandemic Response Plan
- Management of County Continuity of Operations (COOP) functions
- Within an EOC/DOC environment:
- Facilitate General Staff and Section Chief meetings
- Gather intelligence, draft and report on Operational Area response status
- Connect local businesses with State and Federal disaster assistance resources
- Update the spanish-speaking community via live Town Halls and recorded videos
- Establish COVID-19 Community Vaccination Sites
